Red Hill Lavender.

Red Hill Lavender Farm is the largest commercial lavender farm on the Mornington Peninsula. The hand-cultivated crop and traditional distillery process ensure the highest oil quality standard combined with natural products to create an exceptional and effective botanical skincare and culinary range. 

Set on 27 acres high on the ridge at beautiful Red Hill, the ideal place to grow lavender. When the lavender is in bloom it is a magical, sensory experience – It will take your breath away and delight your senses.

Our fields of lavender flower in summer. They are perfect to walk through, picnic in and take loads of photos.

See & smell the incredible scent of freshly harvested bunches of lavender hung in the botanical tent in the fields during harvest.

Many visitors come all year round and wander through the rows even when harvested.

We will be serving up the most delicious lavender-infused produce from our Garden Cafe & Vintage Caravan in the fields. Lavender & Honey Ice Cream, Lavender Lemon & Blueberry Ice Cream, Lavender Scones Jam & cream, Lavender Melting Moments & Johnny Ripe Apple Pie & Ice Cream.

Delicious Picnic/Charcuterie from the Cafe is available from 11am-4pm to share in the fields with Picnic Rug.

Sunset Photography After Hours Sessions:

6pm-8.30pm on a Monday,Tuesday & Wednesday Starting on December 30th-until the end of January.

Cost per session $250 for 1-2hr session in the lavender fields.

Access to farm bathrooms willl be available on the night.

The Process.

The lavender oil is created through a steam distillation process, the same used in the lavender farms of provence. Passing steam through the plant elicits a mixture of water and oil vapors. The vapors are condensed and the oil droplets are easily tapped off. the essential oil can be laboratory-tested using a gas chromatograph analysis to guarantee its quality.

The Results.

Drawing on backgrounds in clinical research and agriculture, Kylie and Brad have implemented a traditional and natural process of growing, harvesting and distilling the lavender. Their passion for the crop results in exceptional quality plants and oils. The five-acre lavender crop was sown by hand, is weeded by hand and harvested by hand. No chemicals are used on the plants so the end product is in its purest form.

All of our botanical products are handmade in Victoria, Australia and contain 100% pure essential lavender oil, available here or at our retail store located within the Bakery above the Lavender Fields.
